On February 6th the church celebrates the feast day of St Paul Miki and companions : the 26 martyrs of Nagasaki in Japan on 5 Feb 1597. So awe inspiring was the collective witness of their faith in Jesus that it has never been forgotten, even when more persecutions came along. What was supposed to have been a mighty deterent to Christians in Japan turned into a victorious witness of love that has echoed down more than 5 centuries. God Bless!
